4 weeks ago Johnny was enjoying life as his first grandchild was born. Things quickly turned for the worse. Johnny was told that what he thought was pneumonia was actually a form of cancer. In fact, Johnny was told it was pretty aggressive. Yesterday he was told that he probably has between 6 months and 1 year left on this earth. Johnny is only 46 and as you can imagine that was and is devastating.
I've enjoyed getting to know Johnny recently. I'm especially grateful because Johnny trusted Christ as His Savior last week! Most of the time when Johnny and I talk on the phone I don't know what to say. But I love telling him that cancer may take his body but it can't touch his soul!
Tomorrow Johnny is going to have some extensive exploratory surgery. He asked, "Would you and all of your friends pray for me tomorrow (Friday)?" I said we would.
So would you please stop and pray for Johnny?
He and his family as well as the doctors will be in my prayers. Cancer is such an ugly thing. But God is glorious and He will walk with this family through this ordeal. How exciting that Johnny NOW can depend on the Greatest Physician EVER!!!
